If you’re not already wired today on the candy meant for trick-or-treaters, I admire your willpower.
Here, I’ve got plenty of non-sugary Halloween treats. These jewels are unapologetically on-the-nose in celebration of the holiday but also—as is the case with most good jewelry—wearable year-round.
For any retailer who might wonder how to sell a piece like Alison Lou’s glow-in-the-dark ghost charm off-season, the answer is simple: It’s cute, its quality and materials give it luxury cred, and as a self-purchase, it’s a little treat with a whole lot of personality.
The same is true for all this other jewelry featuring icons of Halloween—the spider, the snake, the skull. Macabre doesn’t have to be a costume, and these bold jewels have talismanic qualities that outlast the candy corn and mini Snickers bars.
Today, though, it’s okay to enjoy these pieces just for the spooky styles they are. And in coming weeks, we’ll still wear them, to keep a little Halloween with us all year long.
