H. Goldie & Co. is investigating whether an employee in its India office conducted unauthorized transactions, the diamond broker said in a statement.
The employee allegedly fled “with diamonds purchased from the diamond companies and traders from Surat and Mumbai worth over Rs 90 crores,” The Times of India reported.
The company said it’s reported the matter to police and “has instructed a team of legal and forensic experts to assist in its own investigation.”
It added that the transactions were made “with neither the knowledge nor consent of H. Goldie UK.”
