Gemological Science International has adopted Turner Road, a major jewelry street in Mumbai, in order to give back to the community.
The lab’s employees, in collaboration with Mumbai municipal employees, cleaned the neighborhood on Aug. 8.
“We at GSI have a strong tradition of giving back to the community,” Neeta Shah, GSI vice president for Indian operations, said in a statement. “We’re very active in trade organizations in all of our locations worldwide. However, I believe in giving back not only to and through our industry, but beyond this. I love our beautiful country, and there’s much we can do to make it better.”
