Graff Unveils $40 Million Watch at Baselworld

Graff Diamonds once again made a splash at Baselworld, introducing a $40 million watch topped with a 38 ct. D Flawless that can be converted to a bracelet or ring.

Billed as the world’s most valuable transformable timepiece, the Fascination is covered in 152.96 cts. white diamonds and topped with a 38.13 ct. D Flawless pear shape.

The pear-shaped stone can also be worn as a centerpiece in a bracelet or ring, the company said.

This is the second year Graff has made a splash at Baselworld with a diamond-covered timepiece (and it does, in fact, tell time). Last year, in its fair debut, it introduced the fancy colored diamond-covered Hallucination, which it billed as the world’s most valuable timepiece, with a value of $55 million. (This it calls the most valuable transformable timepiece.)

Katherine Roach, head of PR and marketing worldwide, says she doesn’t know if the Hallucination ever sold, but it has gone on a number of exhibitions since its debut at last year’s Baselworld. “They all leave us, eventually,” she says.
