Gordon Brothers, the Boston-based advisory, restructuring, and investment firm, has named Tobias Nanda (pictured) as president of brands.
In his new role, Nanda will develop and execute Gordon Brothers’ brand investment strategies through acquisitions and lending. He has nearly 20 years of experience leading deals, serving on boards of directors, and working with private equity management teams.
Nanda previously worked at Gordon Brothers as vice president of GB Merchant Partners from 2005 to 2010, according to his LinkedIn profile. He has also worked as an investment banking analyst for Merrill Lynch, and as managing director for Palladin Consumer Retail Partners.
He is a graduate of Harvard University and has an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Most recently, Gordon Brothers acquired the Laura Ashley brand from its U.K. administrators; provided bridge financing for bankrupt clothing retailer Brooks Brothers; provided a secured term loan facility to global brand Mothercare; and helped sell British brand Bench to Wraith, an affiliate of Apparel Brands Limited.
Gordon Brothers has also partnered with an investment adviser to arrange a senior secured credit facility for an international infant and toddler toy and product manufacturer.

It was also announced this week that Leonard Polivy, the former managing director for retail of Gordon Brothers, will be joining SB360 Capital Partners.
