Goodwill, the nonprofit resale store, has auctioned a 3.07 ct. diamond ring for $11,601.
The ring was part of an anonymous donation to the Annandale, Va., branch of the Goodwill of Greater Washington, Washington, D.C.’s NBC 4 reported.
The ring was included in a plastic bag of jewelry that arrived at the donation center in early June. The items in the bag were estimated to be worth $1,500, but the ring was sent to the organization’s Washington, D.C., headquarters for appraisal, where it was determined to be a 3.07 ct. diamond in a 14k gold setting.
The ring was put up for auction on Shopgoodwill.com with a starting bid of $1,499. The auction closed Tuesday morning with a selling price of $11,601.
