Gold Hits New Record, Near $1,500

The gold price hit a new record of $1,496 an ounce on April
18, inching closer to the $1,500 benchmark.

At press time on April 18, it was trading at $1,495.20 an ounce.

Analysts called the metal’s continued rise a reaction to continued
fears about inflation.

The price of silver also traded at a 31-year high on April
18, hitting $42.82 an ounce.
