GIA to Launch ‘My Laboratory’ Online Service

The Gemological Institute of America is launching a GIA Laboratory online service, called “My Laboratory” on June 4. This service will accommodate diamond and colored stone customers.

Available on the GIA Web site, My Laboratory customers can get secure, 24/7 access to their GIA Laboratory accounts to check the status of their items. Diamond customers may view results or request additional services. These additional services may include rechecks or inscriptions.

In addition, customers can order reports printed, view items that are available for pickup or shipping, and see all items that have been returned to the customer within the last two weeks.

The online service is secure and confidential, GIA said. Information is updated every 15 minutes.

Only current GIA Laboratory clients with a valid e-mail address can use the new service.

To open an account, complete and return the GIA Laboratory Online Services Application and send it to the GIA Gemological Services Department via fax or mail.

After June 4, GIA will send each individual user an identification and password to each e-mail indicated on the sign-in form.

For more information, customers can contact their GIA Gemological Services Representative, e-mail gsr@gia.edu or call 212-221-5858, ext. 3724 in New York; or 760-603-4500 in California. Or go to the My Laboratory Web page.
