The Gemological Institute of America announced Thursday that it will host its second GIA Mini Jewelry Career Fair in Las Vegas on Sunday, June 6 during the JCK Show.
The Mini Jewelry Career Fair, sponsored by JCK Events, is a condensed version of the Institute’s popular career coaching and job search events that have helped place candidates in the jewelry industry for the last 19 years. A recruiting area for employers interested in meeting the industry’s prospects in person has been added this year.
The career coaches, all notable industry leaders, will provide one-on-one sessions with attendees, offering tips for success in specialized categories including: design, career information, networking, resume review, and business start-up and entrepreneurship. Each private session will last 15 minutes.
The career fair will be held from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m., with doors opening at 9:30 a.m. for career coaching sign-ups. It will take place on the 4th floor of the Venetian Conference Center in the Zeno ballrooms. The event is free and open to anyone. Participation as a recruiter or listing jobs is also free. For further questions contact Anna Hayman, GIA Career Services advisor, at anna.hayman@gia.edu.
