The London branch of the Gemological Institute of America will hold a special weeklong GIA School of Business executive training program, July 31–Aug. 4. The conference is designed to help those in the jewelry industry advance to leadership positions and learn how to expand their businesses internationally.
GIA’s School of Business associate professor David McKinney will travel to London to conduct the training. The program will teach real-world executive management strategies and will include an in-depth discussion of global issues and trends affecting the jewelry industry. As part of the first business school tailored to the jewelry industry, the program will also cover management, leadership, and marketing. Other topics will include international business planning, merchandising, and sales management.
The program deals with specific global challenges, such as currencies and cultures. There will be opportunities to discuss international strategic alliances, and participants will design a marketing program related to their business. Successful participants will be awarded a GIA School of Business certificate of completion.
The executive training program will be repeated in London, Nov 27–Dec. 1, and at GIA Taiwan, Dec. 18–22. In addition, there will be a two-day marketing seminar in Dubai July 4 and 5.
GIA London is located at 104 Great Russell Street. For more information about the GIA School of Business Executive Training Program, visit www.gia.edu.
