GIA launches Bachelor of Business Administration degree program

The Gemological Institute of America has added a Bachelor of Business Administration degree program with a focus on the business of fine jewelry. Classes for the program begin on Oct. 9.

To be eligible for admission to the on campus BBA program, students must already hold an associate’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited college, university, or institute. There are twenty upper-division courses required for the program that focus on marketing, retail management, accounting and finance, entrepreneurship, and international business. The coursework emphasizes case study analysis, team projects, and interactive exercises.

The Carlsbad On Campus BBA program begins with the fall quarter (Oct. 9–Dec. 15), with the following classes: Principles of Management, Accounting Basics, Fundamentals of Marketing, Ethics and Law, Leadership, Retail Management, Visual Merchandising, and International Law and Trade. The online BBA program also begins on Oct. 9 and includes classes in Marketing Management, Human Resources, and Global Business Management.
