GIA Begins Hunt for New Head

The Gemological Institute of America has hired executive search firm DHR International to hunt for its new president and CEO.

DHR’s search is for a replacement for former GIA president and CEO Donna Baker, who resigned in June. Borsheims CEO Susan M. Jacques is currently serving as interim president and CEO.

GIA’s press release on the search does not indicate whether Jacques was being considered for or has applied for the top job. It declined further comment.

DHR is the fifth-largest search firm in the world, according to the GIA statement.
