Some folks are jacks-of-all-trades and masters of none, but Naomi Sarna of the eponymous firm breaks the mold by excelling at every career she tries. Sarna studied many fields, working as a psychoanalyst, a medical hypnotist, a baker and caterer, and a doula before securing a degree in sculpture at age 40. She’s always taken jewelry-making classes, including a carving class with famed Bernd Munsteiner through the Revere Academy upwards of 20 years ago, teaching herself to cut more seriously in the past seven years. She’s won AGTA Spectrum awards for the past three consecutive years and more recently won a nod—“Like an Oscar nomination,” she muses—from the 46th German Award for Jewellery and Precious Stones out of Idar-Oberstein. Sarna makes one-of-a-kinds and new production lines in New York City. Her signature look: a wave.
