Gemfields, the London-based colored-stone miner, has announced a partnership with New York–based designer and manufacturer Select Jewelry Inc.

Select Jewelry will design and produce targeted collections of jewelry using Gemfields emeralds and rubies and be an exclusive partner for distribution to specialty-jewelry and big-box retailers in North America.

“Select Jewelry’s stellar reputation and track record of creating and delivering high-quality, modern jewelry is the perfect platform for Gemfields emeralds and rubies,” Gemfields CEO Ian Harebottle said in a statement. “Our combined involvement in each step of the process will sustain our ability to provide customers with the assurance they require with respect to the responsible journey their gemstones have taken from mine to market.”
