Gem-A (The Gemmological Association of Great Britain) is bringing its Gemmology Foundation Lab Class to the Fashion Institute of Technology New York where it will be presented by gemologist Gary Roskin.

The two-day Gem Lab Class provides an introduction to practical gemology. It is ideal for all with a professional or personal interest in the subject, and also forms the necessary practical component for those studying, or considering studying, Gem-A’s open distance learning Foundation in Gemmology. The two days consist of hands-on practical instruction on gem identification using basic equipment. There are no prior requirements, other than an enthusiasm for, and an interest in, gemstones.

The first such class will be held on May 15 and 16, and numbers are strictly limited so book soon. The cost is $500 per person, or $460 for Gem-A registered students (depending on exchange rates on the day payment is taken).
