If it didn’t feel like autumn a week ago, boy, does it ever now. The leaves haven’t only changed, they’re beginning to fall off the trees. We went from not needing jackets at all to practically needing winter ones. There’s a chill in the air that’s as thrilling as it is teeth-chattering. But through the shivers, I’m smiling. To me there is no time more beautiful, with more promise of exciting events to come. Throughout this season, there are certain colors that I gravitate to—no doubt many of you feel the same way—and forgive the pun, but the way the rose gold of Loretta Castoro‘s creation above kisses its amethyst center is quintessentially fall. A different metal color just wouldn’t have the same warm and comforting effect. Maybe, too, the ring symbolizes us kissing the Color of the Year goodbye as we roll into 2015. The texture of the KissMe ring’s lips is rich, while 20 diamonds add a hint of sparkle seen from its sides. This isn’t the first KissMe collection piece to spark a love affair (see some of Loretta’s other creations here), and it definitely won’t be the last. And at $2,500 retail—less than many of her gemstone-laden pieces from the collection—it’s a great option for the holidays. Who wouldn’t want to kiss the wonderful person who gifted a gem like this?
