F.P. Journe Won’t Hold Salon in 2009

Swiss luxury watchmaker F.P. Journe won’t hold his annual watch salon at its watchmaking facility in Geneva in 2009.

“The company has decided not to launch any new watch creation,” it said in a statement.

The watchmaker recently introduced two important mechanical timekeepers in the Souveraine collection—the Centigraphe (2007) and the Répétition Minute Souveraine (2008). Journe said he wants to “concentrate [his] forces on manufacturing these two watches with their exceptionally complex [mechanical] movements and give them time to breathe a little.”

Journe and his team will still receive clients, and the press during the year at the Manufacture F.P. Journe, in Geneva, said the statement.
