Charles & Colvard appointed former Zale vice president
Steven M. Larkin to its board of directors Feb. 7.

Since January 2010, Larkin has served as senior vice
president of Golfsmith International Holdings, a specialty retailer of golf and
tennis equipment, apparel, and accessories.

Before working at Golfsmith, Larkin served as executive vice
president, chief marketing, and e-commerce officer at Zale Corp. 

“An important element in our growth strategy involves
e-commerce marketing initiatives,” said Charles & Colvard CEO Randy N.
McCullough in a statement. “Steve’s extensive experience in this area and
his understanding of the jewelry industry should prove invaluable to our
management team.”

Charles & Colvard, based in the Research Triangle
Park area of North Carolina, manufactures diamond simulant moissanite.
