Former Unique Settings Operations Director Opens Company

Guild+Facet is a 16,000-square-foot manufacturing facility

Matthew Ego, the former director of operations of Unique Settings, is opening Guild+Facet, a a 16,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in North Bergen, N.J., that will cater to independents and online retailers.

The company will specialize in diamond and gemstone bridal jewelry and findings, as well as custom-jewelry services.

It will heavily utilize technology, Ego says, so when a ring is being designed, the retailer and the customer will get live updates on the process, as well as images and an explanation of how the process works.

Ego (pictured) says his status as a millennial allows him to fill a void in U.S.-based manufacturing.

“There are not many millennials in the manufacturing sector,” he said in a statement. “I see a huge void in this sector; many are retiring, some are closing down, and there is a gap between what customers are looking for, and the products and services that are currently being offered.”
