Ed Barks, the former CEO of Frehold Display, died in his sleep on March 9. He was 76.
In the 1970s and 1980s, Barks repped Frehold Display, Dolan & Bullock, Barnett Robinson, and Girard Perregaux. In 1979, he purchased the majority stock in Frehold Display. In 1987, he became CEO of the company. Later, he started another manufacturing company, Mukilteo Die & Laser Services.
In 2003, he retired, selling Mukilteo Die and closing Frehold Display. Upon his retirement he moved to Oregon, where he enjoyed oil painting and fly-fishing.
He is survived by Joyce, his wife of 51 years.
According to his obituary: “Ed asked that you not mourn his death, but toast his life. At his request, there will be no service.”
