Former Alrosa President Dies

Fyodor Andreev, former president of Alrosa, the Russian diamond-mining giant, died Jan. 30 at age 48.

He resigned his post in September due to medical reasons.

Andreev was a vice president of Alrosa from 2002 to 2003. He then moved on to Russian Railways, where he stayed until 2009, when he returned to Alrosa as president.

“The management of the company on behalf of all employees expresses deep condolences to the family of Fyodor Andreev,” said an Alrosa statement.
