The Jewelers Vigilance Committee (JVC) will give its Stanley Schechter Award to Rebecca Foerster, president of Hearts on Fire, North America, at its annual luncheon next Friday at the Rainbow Room in New York City.
Named for the late founder of Honora Industries, the Stanley Schechter Award honors someone who upholds integrity in the industry.
Foerster has been North America president of Boston-based Hearts on Fire since 2022. Before that, she was president of Alrosa USA for three years.
She’d previously held leadership roles at Rio Tinto Diamonds, Frederick Goldman, and Leo Schachter Diamonds, and began her career in cosmetics and branding.
Foerster, a recent past chair of JVC, is active in many industry associations. She is currently on the board of directors of Jewelers for Children and a member of the executive committee of Diamonds Do Good.
JVC established the Stanley Schechter Award in 2002. Schechter served on the JVC board from the 1960s to 2000.
