Because even a short winter is too long
Despite that fact that this winter has not been particularly harsh on the East Coast (never mind the odd snowstorm or two), this is the time of year when spring just can’t come soon enough. It’s that sweet spot in February, a little less than halfway through, that the shortest month of the year begins to feel like the longest. We long for the bright pop of flowers and would gladly welcome warm rains over blistery snowfall any day. Well, it’s been a whacky year for weather, and I—regrettably—feel that the weather patterns won’t be as predictable as they have been in years past. Our (oft-despised) furry friend Punxsutawney Phil, the scientist that he is, has predicted an early spring this year; let’s hope he’s right. So to get us in the mood—or carry us through, whichever way you see it—here are some of the springiest jewels.
