Ray Griffiths of Ray Griffiths Fine Jewelry has appointed Filecellia Sampson to serve as his new general manager. Sampson’s jewelry career began four years ago as an intern for JCK magazine, where she wrote blogs and helped out on photo shoots.
From there, she moved to the Women’s Jewelry Association for a little over a year, where she worked in an administrative position, and afterwards, she went to Goshwara, a New York City-based fine jewelry firm dealing in high-end colored stones. Sampson will build on her existing experience of media outreach, social media management, and sales assistance—including spearheading trunk show sales—at Ray Griffiths, where she’ll also juggle duties such as inventory management.
“I did employ Filecellia after interviewing lots of people, and she was by far the best applicant,” Griffiths tells JCK. “I was impressed by her from the start; I’m sure it’s going to be a great relationship between us, and I look forward to getting to know her.”
Sampson starts her new post on Sept. 30.
