FinCEN is the regulatory government agency that wrote and published the USA PATRIOT Act anti-money-laundering requirements for the jewelry industry. Fox, in his one-hour presentation, will discuss the need for the jewelry industry to comply with AML rules, the consequences of non-compliance, and who is effected. He will take questions.
Directly following Fox’s keynote session, there will be an industry panel discussion, featuring: Jewelers Vigilance Committee, Cecilia Gardner, JVC’s executive director and general counsel; Dione Kenyon, The Jewelers Board of Trade president; and Anna Martin, ABN Amro senior vice president. The panel will address industry based compliance solutions.
All businesses covered by the Act will have until Jan. 1 to come into compliance.
