Fashion Trend Report 4 of 10: Yellow Gold Jewelry

Know the styles and necklines of clothes in the season ahead to offer the right jewelry in store

Key fall ready-to-wear clothing shows in four cities—New York, London, Milan, and Paris—took place Feb. 2–March 9, resulting in a fresh crop of clothing trends that will affect the jewelry we wear. Jewelers need to note these trends (see the entire report here) in order to stock cases with the right pieces to complement the necklines and silhouettes of the season ahead. Yellow gold is the fourth trend to consider stocking; here are 10 new pieces to coordinate with the season’s most important styles.

Yellow gold. The 1970s—long live fringe!—are still influential in fashion, and so are the 1980s now according to Jenny PackhamAcne, and Lanvin. Plus, there’s the matter of all the rich embroidery (think Naeem KhanPrabal Gurung, and Vivienne Tam) in many collections that speak to brand strengths and eastern European influences, among others. Yellow gold is the ideal metal to adorn these looks.
