Fashion Is the Focus of the 2011 Women in the Know Conference

Candy Pratts Price, Temple St. Clair Carr… These are just two of the names on an
impressive list of speakers for the Women’s Jewelry Association’s 6th Annual
Women in the Know Conference on Jan. 6 in New York City.

Price, the creative director of Vogue.com, and Carr, CEO and designer for New
York City–based Temple St. Clair jewelry brand, among others, will speak to WJA members about
jewelry as the “Ultimate Fashion Accessory,” according to the group.

WWD is a sponsor of the full-day conference, which brings together experts from
a variety of fields to address how luxury and retail brands can build their
businesses through the digital space, what consumer trends can tell us about
forecasting fashion and jewelry designs of the future, and how small
businesses and individuals can make smarter financial decisions around banking
needs and retirement planning. The conference will also include individual
mentoring so that attendees can take advantage of the wisdom and knowledge of
those in their field or areas of interest.

“We elected to change the date of the conference to January 6 to make it more
convenient for those traveling to New York to attend industry events the
following weekend,” explained WJA president Kendra Bridel Weinman. “This new
venue is also more conducive to networking and mingling, which was what past attendees
have asked us for.”

Additional speakers include Scott Galloway, the founder of L2, the Luxury Lab
Think Tank, and Clinical Associate Professor of Marketing at NYU Stern School,
Paola De Luca from Trends and Jewelry Forecasting Group, and more.

The conference—at the McGraw-Hill Building (1221 Avenue of the Americas at 49th Street)—begins with registration at 9:30 a.m. and concludes at 5 p.m.
with a cocktail reception. The registration fee is $200 for WJA members and
$225 for not-yet-members. Register at womensjewelry.org.
