Prices for natural fancy color diamonds remained largely unchanged during the second quarter of 2026, according to the latest data from the Fancy Color Research Foundation (FCRF).
The organization’s Fancy Color Diamond Index declined just 0.1% during the quarter (following a 0.2% decline in the first quarter)—a result the foundation said reflects a stable pricing environment despite ongoing challenges facing the broader diamond industry.
Over the past 12 months, the index has declined 0.5%, according to the report. The FCRF said pricing performance varied by color, size, and intensity, but overall market values were virtually unchanged.
A pop among pinks
Pink diamonds were the strongest-performing major category, rising 0.1%, while yellow diamonds fell 0.3% and blue diamonds declined 0.4%.
Two ct. and 3 ct. pink diamond prices each increased 0.6% during the quarter, while 1 ct. and 1.5 ct. stones rose 0.4%. Fancy vivid pink diamonds posted the strongest performance among pink categories, gaining 0.5%. The FCRF said those gains helped offset weaker performance among some larger stones, including 10 ct. pink diamonds, which declined 1.1%.
Blue diamonds also showed pockets of resilience despite a modest overall decline. One ct. blue diamonds increased 0.7%, while 1 ct. fancy vivid blue diamonds gained 1.5%, the strongest increase among the quarter’s top-performing categories. The broader blue category fell 0.4%, however, as declines in other size and intensity segments outweighed gains in select stones.
Yellow diamonds remained broadly stable as well, according to the report. Three ct. yellow diamonds rose 0.7%, while 3 ct. fancy vivid yellow diamonds gained 1.1%. The overall yellow category declined 0.3% during the quarter.
Vivid for the win
Across all fancy color diamonds, the foundation reported that fancy vivid stones outperformed other intensity grades, increasing 0.2%. Three ct. stones were the strongest-performing size category overall, rising 0.5%.
Since the FCRF began collecting data in 2005, the overall index has risen 202.1%, according to the foundation. Over that period, pink diamonds have increased 389.8%, blue diamonds 239.5% and yellow diamonds 47%.
