Famed Astronaut to Headline AGS Conclave

American astronaut Mark Kelly has been booked to speak at the 2012 American Gem Society Conclave, which will be held at the Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Miami, April 25-28. 

Kelly is an American astronaut, U.S. Navy Captain and an experienced naval aviator who flew combat missions during the Gulf War. He was selected as an astronaut in 1996 and flew his first of four missions in 2001 aboard Space Shuttle Endeavour,  

Kelly became the center of international attention after the January 2011 assassination attempt on his wife, U.S. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.

Another keynoter is Kevin Carroll, the acclaimed author of Rules of the Red Rubber Ball, What’s Your Red Rubber Ball, and The Rubber Ball at Work. He travels the globe speaking to businesses and to young people about the importance of sport and play in life. He is a dedicated advocate in the sport for social change movement.
