Facebook is testing “Want” and “Collect” buttons, meant to make buying products from within the social network easier than before.
The buttons are part of “a small test in which a few select businesses will be able to share information about their products through a feature called Collections,” said a Facebook spokeswoman.
Information on Collections will appear on the News Feed of those who subscribe to the business’ page. Consumers will be able to “like,” “collect,” or “want” products in the collections.
The new feature is being tested with seven retailers: Pottery Barn, Wayfair.com, Victoria’s Secret, Michael Kors, Neiman Marcus, Smith Optics, and Fab.com.
These buttons are not intended to be a social plug-in, like Facebook’s “like” button, which appears off-site.
