Fabrikant 2-ct. engagement ring to appear on ‘ER’

Fabrikant & Sons has provided a Royal Oval 2.12-ct. engagement ring to the producers of the NBC television program ER to be used in an upcoming episode where Dr. John Carter proposes marriage to nurse Abby Lockhart.

The Fabrikant Royal Oval, valued at $20,000, contains a two-ct. VS clarity and G color diamond, surrounded by .12 cts. of pave diamond in a platinum setting.

The plot line calls for Dr. Carter to ask his grandmother for a family heirloom to present to Abby as he asks her to become his wife in an upcoming episode.

“The Royal Oval, one of our newest designs, it reflects the retro trends of today as more women consider and request fancy cut diamonds set in mountings fashionable in the art deco period such as those popular in the early part of the last century,” said Susan Fortgang, principal of Fabrikant. “In keeping with the plot line, it was essential we reproduce a style representative of the heritage and long line of family tradition expected of the program’s Carter family.”

The ring, valued at $20,000, will first be seen on the Feb. 20 show, which airs at 10 p.m.

The Royal Oval joins the Royal Asscher Cut in a new collection called Fabrikant Couture. The collection will be available to consumers in the spring.
