Expanded Education Program at JCK Las Vegas

Jewelers attending JCK ~ Las Vegas 2007 can participate in an education programs in the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino and the Las Vegas Convention Center. Seminars include several tracks devoted to topics critical to business success and professional enhancement. Plus, there will be sessions featuring industry and editorial experts, an executive round-table presentation, and renowned speakers including keynote presentations by Suzanne Somers and independent jewelery consultant Shane Decker.

“This year we are very excited to be able to offer more topics with incredible breadth and depth of content in two buildings at JCK Las Vegas,” said Dave Bonaparte, group vice president, JCK Events. “The JCK Show is a place to build success and professional enhancement through its unique educational programs. Each year we look to meet our attendees ever-changing business needs and strengthen the industry as a whole through our educational programs.” 

The educational program held in the ballrooms at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino on May 30 and 31, will include separate tracks on Diamonds, Gems, Business, Jewelers of America and Jewelers Notebook. Hour-long seminars include: “Fancy Cut Diamond Grading,” “Jump Start a Selling Spree with Natural Color Diamonds,” “Top Five Hot Color Topics,” “GIA Research Update,” “Independence on the Web,” “Clienteling Your Way to Core Business Success,” “A Realistic Look at Using the Internet to Grow,” and, “Reaching Higher Platinum Profits.”

On May 31, The Israel Diamond Institute will host a breakfast panel discussion, titled, “It’s All About the Money: The Diamond Industry 2007.” Industry insiders will discuss systems, tactics, and know-how to benefit from diamond pricing and sales at every level of the pipeline.

On June 1, opening day at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Suzanne Somers will deliver the keynote presentation. The following day, Shane Decker, of Ex-SELL-Ence, Inc., will deliver a second keynote presentation at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Decker will discuss “Are They Really Just Looking?” the real truth behind building relationships with customers from the beginning even if they don’t make a purchase. Complimentary boxed lunches will be available for all attendees. 

On June 2 at the Las Vegas Convention Center there will be an Executive Roundtable Discussion moderated by Matt Runci, president, Jewelers of America. Panelists include Beryl Raff, JC Penney, John Green, Lux Bond & Green, Terry Burman, Sterling Jewelers Inc., Ofer Azrielant, Jewelry.com, Pete Engel, president, Fred Meyer Jewelers, and Esther Fortunoff, executive vice president merchandising, Fortunoff.

Steve LeFever, chairman of Business Resource Services, will host a Profit Mastery Seminar focusing on practical tools to evaluate a business and grow its value. There is a fee of $295 for this course.

From June 1 till June 5, ETS Equipment, Technology, Services and Supplies Pavilion on Level 1 of the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino, the Manufacturing Jewelers & Suppliers of America will present “At the Bench Live,” a series of hands-on interactive demonstrations conducted by some of the industry’s leading jewelers.
