Current CEO David Chu will stay on as chief creative director and chairman
Georg Jensen, the Danish luxury brand that creates fine jewelry, watches, and home goods, has appointed Eva-Lotta Sjöstedt (pictured, right) CEO.
Sjöstedt has a history with global retail companies: She previously held executive positions with home goods retailer IKEA and the German department store chain Karstadt, though she resigned from the latter after less than a year.
“After three exciting years steering the business to its current position, the time is right to hand over to Eva-Lotta,” said current CEO David Chu in a statement. “Design has always been my passion and whilst I have very much enjoyed my time as CEO, I am excited that, with Eva-Lotta’s arrival, I am now able to focus my attention on my role as chief creative director.”
Chu will continue in his role as creative director and will also become chairman.
“Georg Jensen occupies a leading position in the luxury and lifestyle market, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead the company at this exciting time,” said Sjöstedt.
