Etsy.com announced plans yesterday for an Open Call—an opportunity to wholesale works to stores—for artists who sell on the site.
The Brooklyn-based website that celebrates handicrafts teamed up with Nordstrom, the Land of Nod, and Walker Shop, among others to create a way for sellers to pitch brands. To be considered, Etsy.com says that sellers will need to be approved by its wholesale division. Then each artist will be asked to share photos of his or her shop’s story, studio, which retailers they’d like to work with, and a favorite item they’ve made, using the tags @EtsyWholesale and #EtsyOpenCall on Instagram.
