Share

Ethical Metalsmiths has named Christina Malle (pictured) its new president.

Malle, the owner of Christina Malle Jewelry in New York City, takes over the role from Monica Stephenson of Anza Gems, who served as the group’s president for the past three years. Stephenson will remain on the board of directors.

Malle has been an Ethical Metalsmiths member for more than a decade, and joined its board of directors is 2018. She is a trained goldsmith who has a Graduate Gemologist degree from GIA. Christina Malle Jewelry became an official Fairmined licensee in 2019.

A former human rights attorney, Malle received a B.A. from Dartmouth College and a J.D. from New York University School of Law. She learned goldsmithing at New York City’s 92nd Street Y. In 2021, Malle discussed gold sourcing with JCK’s Victoria Gomelsky.

Last year, Ethical Metalsmiths named Barbara Wheat its first executive director. Its board and advisory council can be seen here.
