The World Gold Council has added Emmy Kondo to its business development team, focusing on worldwide jewelry market development.
Kondo will focus her attention on the online community LoveGold, which has nearly a half million followers.
Kondo was most recently the vice president of strategic planning at Forevermark. She also spent more than 10 years at JWT NY as planning director, where she ran planning for De Beers’ “A Diamond Is Forever” marketing campaign.
“I’m thrilled to be taking on this role at the World Gold Council and to be given the opportunity to find new ways of stimulating demand for gold jewelery, particularly in the U.S. market. I believe there are great opportunities to develop the LoveGold platform even further to reach a wider audience and to reinforce the unique aspects of gold jewelry,” Kondo said in a statement.
Sally Morrison, the managing director of jewelry for the World Gold Council, added, “Demand for gold jewelry remains strong globally, representing over half of overall demand, so the time is right to bring in someone of this stature. Having worked with Emmy for many years, I am looking forward to her joining the World Gold Council team.”
