The Gemological Institute of America Alumni Association has named Susan Eisen as the newest member of its Alumni Advisory Council.
The GIA Alumni Advisory Council consists of prominent members of the gem and jewelry industry that provide perspective and guidance to GIA’s Alumni Association. The Council meets periodically throughout the year and interacts with GIA alumni at key GIA Alumni events, including the Alumni party held in Tucson, Ariz. Eisen will join fellow Council members, who include:

* Gail Brett Levine, G.G. council member
* Robert Trapp, G.G., council member
* Richard Drucker, G.G. council member
* Jon Phillips, G.G. council member
Eisen is a GIA Graduate Gemologist. She also is an award-winning jewelry designer and chief executive officer of Susan Eisen Fine Jewelry and Watches based in El Paso, Texas.
A first-generation jeweler, Eisen is an accredited member of the International Society of Appraisers, a Certified Gemologist Appraiser of the American Gem Society, as well as a senior member and Master Gemologist Appraiser of the American Society of Appraisers. She is the author of a book about buying, selling, and caring for jewelry.
