Our favorite looks from the red carpet
The 68th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sept. 18 were a showcase of television’s best talent—and of designers’ best jewels. This year, dresses were bright and diamonds were white. Showcase earrings had an incredible showing, as did massive two-stone and cluster diamond rings. Below, a few our favorite trends from the evening, and the actresses we think wore them best.
It was a night for color, with blue, green, and red dresses showing up multiple times. Yellow gowns were especially on trend, with several actresses—including Taraji P. Henson (best actress nominee, Empire) in Vera Wang, Minnie Driver in Versace, and Mandy Moore in Prabal Gurung—choosing bright and bold.
Our favorite jewelry pairings with the color of the night: Angela Bassett accessorized her Christian Siriano caped gown with amazing on-trend iridescent jewels including a Coomi fire opal and diamond cuff, a Gilan opal ring, and a Le Vian opal ring, and Ellie Kemper (best actress nominee, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) paired her Jenny Packham frock with gorgeous Neil Lane yellow gold jewelry.

Statement earrings were once again on-trend. A few spectacular pairs:
Sarah Paulson (best actress winner, The People v. O.J. Simpson) in Wilfredo Rosado; Keri Russell (best actress nominee, The Americans) in Fernando Jorge; Tracee Ellis Ross (best actress nominee, Black-ish) in De Grisogono; actress Connie Britton in Beladora; Good Morning America host Lara Spencer in Fred Leighton; and, with a spectacular pop of color, actress Tina Fey in Lorraine Schwartz.

Two-Stone and Cluster Diamond Rings
Diamonds continue to be the red-carpet stone of choice. This year, massive two-stone and cluster diamond rings showcased even more of the bling.
A few of our favorites include Tatiana Maslany (best actress winner, Orphan Black) in Forevermark diamond rings, including a two-diamond stunner by Rahaminov Diamonds; Claire Danes (best actress nominee, Homeland) in a Forevermark two-diamond stunner; actress Michelle Dockery in a Harry Winston cluster diamond ring; and Project Runway host Heidi Klum in a three-stone Lorraine Schwartz ring.

A few unique looks we loved included actress Sofia Vergara in an incredible rose gold and diamond cuff ring by Lorraine Schwartz; Emilia Clarke (best supporting actress nominee, Game of Thrones) in understated but bold mismatched Jack Vartanian earrings; and actresses Kristen Bell and Viola Davis (best actress nominee, How to Get Away With Murder) both wore platinum-and-diamond cuffs by Harry Winston.
