(Don’t) Knock Wood: 7 Jewels You Should Stock Now

KIR Collection Amsara wood bangle bracelets

KIR Collection

As I go through my ever-growing stack of magazines that keep coming to my house (seriously, I can’t keep up), I’ve noticed some common themes pertaining to trends. First of all, let me just say that it looks like the fashion world is again embracing brown, and I am so happy about that. I think it’s highly underrated, and while, sure, it’s associated with some unsavory elements of life, it’s also the color of chocolate (who doesn’t love that?) and is closely associated with nature. A trip back to the ’60s and ’70s, with its fringed suede and thigh-high boots, paired with a call to elements of the outdoors, leads us to embrace the color brown again in a big way. Jewels are being crafted from textiles, like the aforementioned suede being used to create tassel earrings and pendants, and, the star of this blog post, wood. Designs range from light cedar wood to dark, almost black ebony wood, though my preference falls somewhere right in the center: a rich, rustic hue. Here are some recent finds, and I hope to see many more in the coming months.
