The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre appointed Jean van der Donckt as Special Advisor – Diamond Banking.
This announcement comes in line with DMCC’s objectives to foster the growth in diamond banking activities in Dubai, as part of its Masterplan for Dubai’s diamond trade, unveiled earlier this year, DMCC said in a statement.
Van der Donckt has more than 25 years of experience in international diamond banking. For most of his career, he has been associated with Antwerp Diamond Bank, where he served as senior vice president until 2006. He has extensive experience in the major diamond markets, including Antwerp, Mumbai, Hong Kong, and New York.
In his new role at DMCC, he will focus on providing advisory and counselling services to facilitate local bankers, thus enabling them to set up and promote diamond banking activities in Dubai.
