Diamond manufacturing and trading group Dimexon Diamonds Ltd., Mumbai, India, and Eurostar Diamond Traders N.V., Antwerp, has become one of Gemological Institute of America India’s Founding Benefactors with a $1 million gift to the Institute’s Endowment for Education in India.
India, which is the largest producer of polished diamonds in the world by volume, sends the second-largest number of students to GIA for industry education.
The contribution means Dimexon-Eurostar will join GIA’s elite group of Million Dollar Roundtable donors, and company representatives will be inducted into the prestigious League of Honor next year. A reception will be held in Mumbai July 20 to honor the group. GIA will also rename the student plaza at its world headquarters in Carlsbad, California, the “Dimexon-Eurostar Student Plaza” in appreciation of the contribution.
