Such a simple concept, the shape of the circle. A line that curves until it meets its other end, creating a never-ending path the beginning and end of which only its creator knows (and even they might lose track). But it’s what is done with that circle that is so special here. Nothing new, but seemingly more prominent as of late (I feel that more press requests are featuring the simple—but often intricately detailed—style), the circle is coming through with numerous interpretations from all sides. Some designers leave the center of the shape open, letting the negative space act as an integral part of the look. Others opt for something more solid, filling the circle with gemstones or detailed metalwork. Some are like bejeweled wreaths; others, a minimal wireframe. Some feature a graduated line of circles, lending a bubbly appearance, while others still link together in a sweet design that evokes an everlasting bond.
