Elaborate Diamonds Won Big at the Golden Globes

Share

Celebs brought out the ice at the 81st Golden Globe Awards, with diamond earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and brooches seen everywhere during the Beverly Hills star-studded event on Sunday.

While some fashion stole the show for its drama—let’s talk Rosamund Pike in her black lace veil and gown—the jewelry deserved its own runway. There were colored gemstones and pearls, especially on the men, but the women favored diamonds.

Once you got over the rough opening monologue and starlets who chose naked collarbones—come on, give us some sparkly glamour along with those plunging necklines!—you could see plenty of great diamond jewels as performers accepted their awards.

Here are a few of the looks that caught our eye during the 2024 Golden Globes.

De Beers Swift

De Beers
You might not have heard of her, but this singer (top) who goes by the name Taylor Swift seemed to grab a lot of attention. Just kidding. Swift wore all De Beers, with multiple rings, earrings, ear cuffs, and bracelets, to look even more in her glory than she already is.

Swift’s standout from De Beers may have been the Arpeggia three-line earrings set in 18k white gold. At an impressive 9.09 carats, the earrings drew all of the cameras straight to Swift and kept them there. They could become a huge hit among Swifties.

Robbie Schwartz

Lorraine Schwartz
Margot Robbie put on perhaps her best Barbie look yet, wearing a custom Giorgio Armani Privé hot pink sequined gown and tulle boa for the Globes. But she really lit up with more than $3 million in Lorraine Schwartz on.

Incredible 30-carat diamond studs were the highlight, making Robbie’s ears about as valuable as her work as producer on the Barbie movie. Her 3 ct. flawless old-cut Golconda diamond ring had natural vivid pink diamonds to complement her gown—a replica of the dress on 1977’s Superstar Barbie doll—for a truly legendary awards-show ensemble.

Boucheron ring

Boucheron
Fans may recognize actress Ayo Edebiri in her chef’s whites for character Sydney Adamu on The Bear, but she was adorned with diamonds Sunday thanks to Maison Boucheron. The winner for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series—Musical or Comedy wore Boucheron’s Pompon pendant earrings as well as a Serpent Bohème ring that seemed entwined around her finger, giving her a flash of diamond splendor against her bright red gown.

Another high-five to Boucheron for its formidable pieces on Jennifer Lopez, who wore Hopi the Hummingbird pendant earrings and ring with morganite, sapphires, and diamonds, plus a Plume de Paon bracelet with a rose-cut diamond and round diamonds.

Lipa Tiffany Globes

Tiffany & Co.
Some haters derided Dua Lipa’s black velvet gown with embroidered, gilded bones as prom-dress chic, but few had a bone to pick with the singer’s Tiffany & Co. Archives necklace in gold and platinum with yellow beryl, topaz quartz, and diamonds. It made the stunning Lipa seem even more ethereal, and there was no way you could miss her.

Tiffany also gets a shout-out for its vintage platinum and diamond necklace, bracelet, earrings, and ring on Reese Witherspoon.

Assael Jabot Pin

Assael
Men showed off some of the finest styles of the awards ceremony, pairing their tuxedos with classic jewels. Barbie’s Simu Liu wore an Assael Tahitian pearl and diamond pin that shone brightly off his lapel. Michael Evans Behling from TV’s All American donned a similar Assael pin, but with South Sea pearls. Both actors looked dapper, which should put this pin on many men’s jewelry list for 2024.

Effy ring
Effy was a bright star at the Golden Globes thanks to the Ruby Royale 14k rose gold crossover ring with 3.27 cts. t.w. rubies and 0.74 ct. t.w. diamonds ($4,616.50) worn by Da’Vine Joy Randolph. (Photo courtesy of Effy)

Effy
Da’Vine Joy Randolph gives an award-winning performance in the film The Holdovers, and at the Globes she proved she deserved to be in the spotlight with her Effy jewelry. The actress wore the Ruby Royale ring, with a wave pattern that complemented the elegance of her curve-hugging gown. Who wouldn’t want to be dressed up with rubies on the red carpet? They’re a must.

Effy also draped Ted Lasso diva Hannah Waddingham in white gold diamond earrings and rings, for a luxury touch on the blond bombshell to go with her form-fitting black lace corset dress.

Martin Katz earrings

Martin Katz
This celebrity jeweler was all over the Golden Globes, but a favorite look had to be the diamond slice drop earrings in 18k white gold with black enamel on Killers of the Flower Moon actress Tantoo Cardinal. Katz micro-set the earrings with 701 diamonds. That’s an astounding achievement for any jeweler, and it demonstrates how Katz takes such care to provide each awards-show attendee with something unique to highlight her best features.

bague coussin cha cha cha
Making a statement, Suits costar Sarah Rafferty wore this Yvonne Léon Bague Coussin Cha Cha Cha ring ($3,505), which features 18k yellow gold, gray diamonds, and a green glass center stone. (Photo courtesy of Yvonne Léon)

Yvonne Léon
Talk about being green with envy. Everyone who saw actress Sarah Rafferty wearing Yvonne Léon’s Bague Coussin Cha Cha Cha ring likely wanted one of their own immediately afterward. Dripping gold beads and gray diamonds provide the ring with movement and, with Rafferty’s 1960s-style dress, gave the sense that the Suits alum had just come from a swinging cocktail party.

Ring Concierge Diamond Earrings

Ring Concierge
Red-carpet host Zanna Roberts Rassi was decked out in Ring Concierge’s Cloud collection, including Fanned Diamond Statement earrings, Petite Jumbo Diamond huggies, a Diamond Mesh choker, and three multiway tennis necklaces.

The Fanned earrings were the entertainment journalist’s biggest winners, offering a balance to the weight of diamonds around her neck and on her hands. They also reflected the cutout in Rassi’s high-neck, long-sleeve black dress, which exposed just a hint of toned stomach.
