The Diamond Bourse of Canada announced Tuesday that it will be fully operational by the third week of March.
The Toronto-based exchange, Canada’s first, officially opened in January.
Members will be able to inspect their goods or bring a customer to preview goods before clearing them through customs. The diamond exchange will feature a technological center situated on the bourse’s trading floor. A diamond grading certificate window has already begun operating at the bourse. The window serves as a drop-off point where members can submit diamonds for certification and receive same-day diamond grading services.
In addition, a seminar program will begin in March. The first in the series is an interactive seminar by the Royal Bank of Canada, that will discuss how the diamond industry and financial institutions can work together more effectively. For a full listing of future seminars, go to www.info@diamondbourse.ca.
