Details of 2004 Titanium Jewelry Design Competition revealed

The World Titanium Council, Deerfield Beach, Fla., will again host its annual International Jewelry Design Competition.

For 2004, this worldwide competition will offer entrants the opportunity to present their projects as either designs or finished pieces, however all designs must demonstrate the qualifications necessary for titanium fabrication. A major criterion in judging each entry will be how the piece is unique to titanium or how the design is enhanced through the use of titanium.

Deadline for entry is April 1, 2004. Winners will be announced in June at the 2004 JCK Show in Las Vegas. Entry fees will remain at $50 for initial entry and $35 each for additional entries.

The overall Grand Prize winner will receive the Outstanding Design in Titanium Award along with an expense paid trip to Las Vegas to attend the awards presentations. Other prizes include the TIA (Titanium Innovative Artist) Award from the event co-sponsor Spectore, along with $500 cash (Professional Designers) or a $500 scholarship (design students).

Judges for the 2004 event include names and talents associated with the jewelry and fashion industries. Editors from national publications GQ and magazines will be joined by industry media editors representing JCK, Lustre, National Jeweler and Professional Jeweler. Other judges represent Jewelers Resource Bureau, Fortunoff’s, Mikimoto, and Macy’s.

Additional details and information, including entry forms, may be obtained by contacting the World Titanium Council (954-421-2310 or info@worldtitaniumcouncil.org) or by visiting their website at www.worldtitaniumcouncil.org.
