De Beers sold $630 million in rough diamonds at its latest sight, an uptick from the $528 million it sold at the prior sale.
“We saw healthy demand for our rough diamonds in Cycle 7, as manufacturers brought forward some of their demand in order to cut and polish rough diamonds in time for the important retail selling season,” said CEO Bruce Cleaver in a statement.
The number is provisional and includes both its sightholder and auction sales.
