Jacob Zupnick, treasurer of the Diamond Dealers Club since 2011, died June 30 at age 67. The cause was cancer.
“He was one of our long-standing members,” says president Reuven Kaufman. “He was very dedicated to the industry. His door was always open. He was respected throughout the world and will be sorely missed.”
In a 1997 article, Zupnick said that despite all the industry’s challenges, he believed in its future.
“There’s still room for people who want to work hard and who have a good head for business,” Zupnick said. “If you have a good name, you have the loyalty of your customers. They come back to me because they know I do my best for them.”
In addition to his work in the DDC, Zupnick dedicated his time to Hatzolah, the ambulance service, and numerous other charities.
