Crescent Jewelers, a leading West Coat retail jewelry chain, posted a 2.4% gain in net sales, to $57 million, for the three-month period ended Dec. 28, 2002.

However, comparable store sales were flat, the firm announced this month. Crescent operates 163 stores in six states, 100 in regional malls and 63 in power strip centers. Crescent Jewelers is an affiliate of Friedman’s Inc., a specialty retailer of fine jewelry based in Savannah, Ga.
