Jewelry design—especially when put forth by an independent designer—is such a unique, personal thing. To explore their creations is like peering into their soul: Each designer imparts something of themselves into what they do. So if the jewels from Damascus-born Hania Kuzbari are any indication, the designer is bold, colorful, and—not to put it too plainly, but—fun.
Originally a business student, Hania, who just this year showcased in the Design Center at JCK Las Vegas, ventured into an arts education, which led to jewelry, and violà! Her experimental, inquisitive, and distinctive style was born. The designer has a vast array of collections, each taking on quite a different aesthetic from the next, but it’s her Smile series that is the most whimsical, a wink to clever design that you can’t not be happy to see. I hope to share more from the designer sometime soon, but for now, these happy few seem like the perfect way to kick off a summer weekend.
