Two gemstone companies—Columbia Gem House and Sapphires of Montana—have merged to form a new company, Sapphires of Montana by Columbia Gem House.
Columbia Gem House, founded by Eric Braunwart 40 years ago, specializes in fair trade and responsibly sourced gemstones with mine-to-market traceability.
Sapphires of Montana brands, markets, and sells Rock Creek sapphires from the eponymous state. It was founded by Lisa Brooks-Pike and Margo Bedman in 2012.
Following the merger, Lisa Brooks-Pike will continue with the new company as marketing director.
